Have some colour fun with this beginner-friendly lap or throw size quilt! Choose a light and dark of your favourite colours and show them off with a bold, contrasting zigzag design.

This pattern comes together quite quickly, with simple cutting and minimal seams. Choose solids in lights and darks as I have, or showcase some favourite prints in the wider stripes with complementary solids for the narrow stripes.

The pattern is written for fabric with a usable width of 41". If your fabric is not wide enough, the pattern is easily modified to accommodate a smaller width of fabric. I have chosen a solid binding, but there is an option in the pattern to utilise your off-cuts to create a scrappy binding.

Finishing at about 54" x 60", this is a comfortable lap quilt or throw. You could also turn this into smaller quilt by reducing the number of rows and turning the design on its side.
